LAPLACE – The make-up of judges on the 40th Judicial District Court will apparently stay the same for another term.

St. James D.A. runoff set
CONVENT – Ricky Babin and Louis Lambert finished one-two in the Saturday election for St. James district attorney, putting the two in a runoff on November 4.

Andouille Pageant and Festival return
 ST. JOHN – Two annual traditions, the St. John Andouille Pageant and Festival, will once again be held in St. John Parish in October. The Pageant will be held on October 11 at St. John Theatre in Reserve and the Festival will be held on October 17 through 19 at its new location on Highway 51 in LaPlace.
