LAPLACE – Authorities in Minnesota arrested a Minneapolis man wanted on armed robbery charges in St. John Parish, said a spokesman for the St. John Sheriff’s Office.
Maj. Mike Tregre, public information officer for the St. John Sheriff’s Office, said a routine traffic stop in Minneapolis netted Corey D. Martin, 24, 1105 16th Ave., North Minneapolis, Min. Tregre said Martin was implicated in an April 17 armed robbery at a carwash in the 400 block of Belle Terre Boulevard.

Tregre said the investigation led to the arrest of Justin Lambert, 20, 1308 Cartier Dr., LaPlace as well as a juvenile suspect, whose name was not released. In statements to police, the alleged perpetrators both implicated Martin in connection with the robbery. The men told deputies that Martin, who has ties to the St. John community, had been staying in the area at the time of the incident. Tregre could not elaborate on those ties.
Martin, who told detectives that Lambert and the juvenile were responsible for the robbery, was booked into the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace on charges of armed robbery with a firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He is being held on a $400,000 bond.
