HAHNVILLE – Authorities in St. Charles are investigating an alleged rape of a 37-year-old St. Rose woman late Sunday night, said a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, public information officer for the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office, said the woman, whose name was not released, contacted deputies after she was dropped off in a remote location somewhere in Des Allemands.

“We’re still trying to get the facts in the case, there is not much more to reveal,” said LaGrange.

According to a report on the incident, the victim told deputies that she was picked up by an unknown black male driving an unidentified vehicle in St. Rose around 10 p.m. Sunday. She said the suspect proceeded to physically and sexually assault her before driving her out to Des Allemands and dropping her from the vehicle. When deputies arrived, the victim was transported to St. Charles Hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Anyone with any information on the attack is asked to contact the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807.

" Why in the hell was she "picked up" by an "unknown black man" in an "unknown vehicle"????!!! Common sense!!!!?? Anyone??? UNLESS he forced her in the vehicle-I have no sympathy for her! Hello?!?!?!?! Why would you get into a vehicle with someone you dont know???! For Christs' sake, you can barely trust people you have known all your life, now a days! Please someone-fill me in on the updates of this case! I am trying to be sympathetic-but until I know all the details, I honestly dont think I can be. Please someone fill me in! Thanks so much! "
