The River Region Chamber of Commerce will be holding a golf tournament to benefit continuing education on Oct. 13 at Riverlands Golf and Country Club. A portion of the proceeds will be given to a deserving student at the LTC Reserve Campus & River Parishes Community College. “Do it for Don” fundraising golf tourney
scheduled for Oct. 24
There will be a four-man scramble golf tournament fundraiser at Belle Terre Country Club on Friday, Oct. 24 for Don Vicknair, who has a rare lung disease and is in need of a double lung transplant. The “Do it for Don” tourney will have a 9 a.m. tee time. Entry fee is $500 per team, or $100 per individual. Proper attire is required. Donations to help the cause should be sent c/o Mary Simon, P.O. Box 664 in Gramercy, LA, 70052, or by visiting any Regions Bank where an account has been set up bearing the name “Don Vicknair Fundraiser”. “Get High on Life” Benefit Golf Classic slated for Oct. 13
“Get High On Life” will be holding a benefit golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 13 at Belle Terre Country Club. Tee time will be at 1 p.m. Cost is $100 per player, which includes green fees, cart rental, two mulligans and a golf shirt. Lunch, dinner, and refreshments will be provided, and awards and prizes will be given out. To sponsor a hole, the fee is also $100. For more information, call Renee Waguespack, 225-869-7360.
