Beloved wife of the late Edward Rome Sr. Mother of Sterling of Orlando, Fla., Edward Jr. of Boutte and Alan Rome of Orlando, Fla., and Gail Rome Toups of Metairie. Daughter of the late Pauline and Sidney Gautreaux. Sister of the late Hazel Eschette, twin sister of Elsie Colopy and Bernard Gautreaux. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Age 83 years. A native of Metairie and a resident of LaPlace since 1944.
Relatives and friends also the staff of River Parish Hospital are invited to attend services. Visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Hwy., LaPlace, La., on Wednesday, September from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Followed by religious services at the Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Burial in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery in LaPlace.

Deacon Percy J. Vicknair on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 2:10 a.m. Beloved husband of the late Pearl Scioneaux Vicknair. Father of Linda V. Vicknair and husband Charles and Barbara V. Woodroof and husband Richard. Grandfather of Payton and wife Petra Vicknair, Mark and wife Victoria Vicknair, Lindsay, Andrew and Nicholas Woodroof. Son of the late Wilfred and Aline Bourgeois Vicknair. Brother of Lucille Haydel and the late Edna Becnel, Bernice Roth, Mae Montz, Minnie Mattei, Hazel Deslatte, Rose Lowry, Natalie Ramirez and Wilfred Vicknair. Age 84 years. Visitation and services were held on Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in LaPlace. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Brenda Gmabrell Vicknair, 68, died September 6, 2008. The French Settlement resident is surived by husand Noe Timothy Vicknair Jr., sons Tim and Andrew, daughters Tamy Reynolds and Angel Walker, mother Mavis Hood Gambrel Buchanan and sister Barbara Rucker. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father Herman W. Gambrell.
Visitation is Wednesday, September 10, from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 1870 Cabanose Ave., Lutcher, La. Mass of Christian Burial follows at St. Joseph Churchin Paulina. Interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude or Epilepsy Foundation. Rose Lynn Funeral Services, 225-869-0000, in charge of arrangements.
