St. Joan of Arc Golf “Scorsone” Golf Classic slated for Sept. 15

The St. Joan of Arc Catholic School 9th Annual Frank Scorsone Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15 at Riverlands Country Club.  There will be a 10:30 a.m. lunch, followed by a noon shotgun start.  The River Region Chamber of Commerce

holding Golf Tournament to Benefit Continuing Education on Oct. 13

 

The River Region Chamber of Commerce will be holding a golf tournament to benefit continuing education on Oct. 13 at Riverlands Golf and Country Club.  A portion of the proceeds will be given to a deserving student at the LTC Reserve Campus & River Parishes Community College. Ed Reed River Parish Jamboree slated

for Aug. 28 & 29

Some of the best talent in the River Parishes will be on display Thursday, Aug. 28 and Friday, Aug. 29 as eight area teams will take part in the Ed Reed River Parish Football Jamboree.   It all starts at East St. John on Thursday, as the ESJ will face West St. John at 6:30, followed by St. Charles vs. Riverside. On Friday night, the action moves to Hahnville, where the Tigers will face St. James at 6:30, and Destrehan and Lutcher will square off afterwards.

Tickets for Thursday can be purchased at SCC/ESJ/WSJ/RA for $5 in advance. At the gate, the price will be $7. At Hahnville, all tickets will be $6.  

St. Peter Catholic Community taking registration for soccer

St. Peter Catholic Community is registering for its 2008 Soccer Season.  Children from 4 to 14 years are eligible to play.  Forms can be picked up on the table in the back of St. Peter Church or at St. Peter School.  Call Donna at 536-4296 if you have any questions.

 

RA taking registration for biddy volleyball camp

The league is open to girls ages 6-12 from all area schools.

Registration can be dropped off or mailed to Riverside Academy (ATTN: Coach Hebert or Coach Gaspard). We will also have registration on Saturday, August 23rd from 10AM until 12PM in the Riverside Academy Gym.

Registration fee is $50 and includes a t-shirt. The first day of practice will be Wednesday, August 27th.  The 6-9 year old players will come from 5PM-6PM.  The 10-12 year old players will come from 6PM-7PM. Games can be played on Monday, Wednesday, or Saturdays. A final schedule will be made once teams are selected.

Pelican Point to participate in Patriot Golf Day

Aug. 29-Sept. 1

Pelican Point Golf Club has announced its participation in the 2nd annual Patriot Golf Day, from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. The event is to help raise money to support families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty. During those days, golfers nationwide will be asked to donate a minimum of $1 to benefit the Folds of Honor foundation, which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.
