Cazalas

Nancy Engstrom Cazalas, a native of Mobile, Ala., and a resident of Daphne, Ala., died, or in her own words, went home to Jesus, Monday at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala.  She was preceded in death by parents, Roswell Engstrom and Irma McCallister Engstrom Robertson; daughter, Teresa Nicole Cazalas; grandson, Gabriel Isaac Anzalone; father-in-law Marion B. Cazalas of Mobile; Msgr Herman C. Cazalas; and brother-in-law, James K. Cazalas.

Survivors include husband, Peter J. Cazalas of Daphne; children, Jennifer (Dale) Anzalone, Bethany (Patrick) Willis, Jonathan (wife Sahar Khan) Cazalas, Stacie (Greg) Kishiyama, and thirteen grandchildren.

As an active Catholic, she was a member of Ascension of Our Lord in LaPlace for 27 years, where she served as lector, Extraordinary minister and minister to the sick and homebound. She professed vows as a Lay Carmelite in 2000 and continued to be an active member throughout her life. After retiring in 2004, she moved back to the Mobile area and became a member of Christ the King Parish in Daphne, where she attended daily Mass and was involved with the Lady’s Altar Society, Red Hat Society and helped organize monthly birthday parties for senior citizens at The Gardens.

Her body was donated for medical research and a memorial Mass was held Thursday, August 28 at Christ the King Church in Daphne. A reception and luncheon will followed at Christ the King Assumption Hall.

Camallo

Rita Abadie Camallo on Sunday, August 24, 2008, at 4:00 p.m. Beloved wife of the late Salvador (Mike) Camallo. Mother of Kathy Camallo, Brenda Condrey, Becky Davis and the late Michael Camallo. Also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sister of Vivian Huber, Leo Abadie, Jerry Abadie, Amedee J. Abadie and Conrad Abadie. Age 88 years. A native of Wallace, La., and a resident of LaPlace.

Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Thursday August 28. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Chilton

Sandy Chilton died on Sunday, August 24, 2008, at 5:45 a.m. in River Ridge, La. A native of St. Louis, Mo., has lived in Destrehan since 1964. She was a Home Maker and of Catholic religion.

Visitation and services were held on Tuesday, August 26 at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Chilton Sr.; sons; Donald D. Chilton Jr., and Ronald J. Chilton; brothers, John and Rich Bahan; sisters, Jacqueline Gallino and Joette Lipic; grandchildren, William Chilton, Brandi Chilton, and Hunter Chilton. Preceded in death by: parents, John and Esther Bahan. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Keller

Darcy Montelius Keller, age 30, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 24, 2008. She was a resident of Gramercy and a native of Lutcher. She is survived by her loving husband of eight years, Michael Keller, her three beautiful sons:  Mason, Dawson and Bryson; a beautiful daughter: Gabrielle Keller; her loving parents: Robert (Sr) “Bean” and Jacqueline “Jackie” Montelius; a brother: Robert “Rob” Montelius Jr. and a sister: Darsha M. Recotta. She is also survived by her favorite nephew, Dustin Montelius, and Father-in-law, Ray Keller, Sr.  She was employed by Nobile's Restaurant for many years.  Darcy was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.

Visitation and services were held on Thursday, August 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina.
