St. Charles police seek armed robber
Suspect brandished gun at Destrehan shop

Sheriff Greg Champagne is seeking the public’s assistance in an Armed Robbery, which took place at the Valero Corner Market, 12609 U.S. 61, Destrehan, La.  

At approximately 9:46 p.m., a 25-year-old New Sarpy Woman was working as a cashier when an unknown black male asked her about purchasing a pack of cigarettes. As the cashier attempted to hand the subject the cigarettes he allegedly brandished a handgun demanding the cashier give him the money out of the cash register. The victim complied at which time the suspect fled the scene.  

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue hat with a “NY” symbol, a white T-shirt and blue shorts. He was possibly driving a grey Chevy Blazer. Anyone who has any information about the Armed Robbery or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective Joseph Dewhirst at 985-783-1135 or 985-783-6807 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP.  Citizens do not have to give their name nor testify and could receive up to $2500 in cash reward.
