No incorporation, but Garyville now getting much needed attention

Even though the Town of Garyville did not become incorporated last Saturday, when the people in that area went to vote on the issue, it is clear that some real good should come from the incorporation effort.

The votes are counted and at least for now, the question of whether the Town of Garyville will become incorporated, is settled. And the answer is “No.”

A surprise for an old friend underscores the value of life
The name Leroy Labat may be foreign to people who are unfamiliar with the history of River Parish or LSU football.  The Labat Legacy, however, is still the subject of football fans around my age when the season rolls around.
