Thrift shop volunteers meet each quarter to choose local organizations to receive donations. In addition to ten local non-profit agencies, special donations were made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and the Veteran’s Home in Reserve for use as needed.
Emma Gilmore is the new treasurer. She announced that the thrift shop donated 14 prom dresses from their stock, cleaned by Stein’s cleaners, to East St. John High School students. The thrift shop also donated $100 towards the cost of a limousine to take the students to their prom in Kenner.
