A 2005 Jeep Laredo sits in a mangled wreck on the side of Spruce Street after losing a battle with an oncoming train. The driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Trenesha Love of LaPlace, suffered minor injuries when she pulled into the path of the Canadian National freight train as it passed the crossing, near the intersection of Spruce Street and Capt. Variety show needs talent
Norco Adult Day Care is planning its 16th annual summer variety show to be held at Sacred Heart School auditorium in Norco. Special emphasis is on local talent - students and adults who would like some free public exposure. Honored guests will be the clients of Norco Adult Day Health Care, and the public is invited to attend. The date for the show is July 25th, 2008 from 1 to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in donating a few minutes of their time is asked to call Kathy at 764-7223. The Variety Show is the annual fund raiser for Norco Adult Day Health Care. Tickets for the show will be on sale at the center, which is located at 425 Spruce Street, or from staff and volunteers of Norco Adult Day Care. Tickets are $2.00 each. Door prizes will also be given away at intermission. Winners of door prizes do not have to be present to collect their prize. Refreshments will also be available.

Disney comes to life
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be performed at Destrehan Auditorium, #1 Wild Cat Lane, Destrehan,  LA for a limited engagement beginning Thursday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m.  Other performances will be held on July 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and July 13 at 2:00 p.m.  Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years of age; to order tickets or for more information, contact Marcia Peyton at 985-764-1969.
