According to the Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 6 p.m. on May 7, the sheriff’s office received a call from the victim’s grandmother who stated her granddaughter had been raped by a black male subject.
Upon investigation by detectives, it was learned that the 14-year-old victim had been forcibly taken into a house on Oak Street in Gramercy where she was raped by the suspect, according to information from the Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was able to escape from the home and fled to her grandmother’s house where she reported what had happened to her. She was taken to East St. James Hospital in Lutcher, to receive medical attention.
The suspect has been identified as Samuel Gordon (B/M, DOB 12-16-1950, 266 South Oak Street, Gramercy, LA). Upon initially taking him into custody, the subject complained of chest pains shortly after arriving at the jail in Convent. It was learned that he had a history of heart problems. so he was taken to the hospital and admitted.
Charges are pending and he will be arrested upon release. Officers established him as the suspect shortly after the rape and he was initially taken into custody to be charged, but due to the complications regarding his health he was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures, officials with the Sheriff’s Office said.
Gordon is expected to be charged with Aggravated Rape, Second Degree Kidnapping, Indecent Behavior With a Juvenile, and Molestation of a Juvenile.
The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation regarding the incident.
