Julie Dauzat (Vacherie Elementary/Vacherie Primary), Kay Dornier (Gramercy Elementary) Harry Francois III (St. James High School) and Eugene Hoover (Lutcher High School) all completed the Principal Induction program and were honored on Friday, May 2, at a ceremony held at the St. James Parish Public Relations building. Eight other parishes had principals receive awards for completion of the program as well.
“I am happy that our new principals have all completed the SLC program. All of us can continue to grow in our professional field,” said St. James Parish Public School Superintendent, Dr. Alonzo Luce.“These principals have displayed their dedication for our school system by taking the time to go through continued professional development and mentorship from experienced principals. We look forward to the results of their development ultimately reflecting in the performances of our students as well as their peers across the parish.”

After the initial training, the team provides monthly one-on-on sessions with the principal to develop their instructional leadership capacity at their school sites, with measured success in improved academic achievement scores by students.
“Mentors for our new principals have been a prominent resource in helping the new principals move our schools forward,” Dr. Luce stated.
