RR ballet wants dancers

Published/Last Modified on Friday, May 9, 2008 2:42 PM CDT

The River Region Ballet will hold auditions for Company and Junior Company members for their 2008-09 season. Talented dancers with dedication and the desire to perform are urged to audition. Company and Junior Company members perform a full length Nutcracker and Spring Concert along with professional guest artists. Members also serve the community by performing in nursing homes and in various other venues. They attend free workshops, attend dance performances, and enjoy educational and social events.

The River Region Ballet is a non-profit organization established in 1995 under the artistic direction of Susan Ferrara. It promotes dance performance and education. RRB performs a varied repertoire including full length productions such The Nutcracker, Cinderella and The Sleeping Beauty, classical and 20th century ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, Les Sylphides  and La Boutique Fantasque and original compositions such as  Thumbelina, Passages, The Fairy Garden and Royal Mischief. Dancers are chosen through open auditions. This performance opportunity allows young dancers to meet, dance with, and observe professional guest artists contracted for each production. The inspiration given by these professionals is priceless to aspiring dancers.
