Ascension of Our Lord Kindergarteners celebrated the Feast of St. Nicholas on his feast day December 6th in conjunction with their Pajama Party.
As part of the Saints history of gift giving the students put their shoes outside the classroom prior to naptime and awakened to find candy inside of them.
St. Nicholas is associated with Christmastime and gift giving due to his reputation for secret gift-giving, and is now commonly identified with Santa Claus.
AOL Kindergarten student, Kevin Dauenhauer, as well as classmate Chritian Montz and teacher Lisa LeBlanc, show surprise as he discovers his shoes filled with candy as the students celebrated the Feast of St Nicholas.
