LAPLACE - After spending seven months on the job, Buddy Duhe, general manager in charge of sales and marketing for Belle Terre Country Club, is doing everything he can to get the word out about what the club has to offer.
“My brother (Tim Duhe) purchased the club about two years ago,” said Duhe. “He brought me on to market the club, bring in more events and spread the word on what we have here.”

“It really feels like we are starting to turn a corner with business,” said Duhe. “We've had lots of compliments and positive feedback. Nothing spreads faster than word of mouth.
One particular amenity Duhe is specifically proud of is Ciao Bella, a casual dining restaurant nestled within the confines of the clubhouse. He said the best part about the cozy eatery is that it is completely open to the public.
“That has been our biggest hurdle regarding the restaurant,” said Duhe. “Anyone can walk in here and enjoy a good meal here, there is no need to be a member.”
Before joining the staff at Belle Terre, Duhe spent 19 years at Southern Chemical Industries working in a similar capacity. Country club management is a fairly drastic job shift for Duhe, but he said he has enjoyed the career change.
