‘Oklahoma' begins local run Friday by St. John theater performers

RESERVE -- St. John Theatre will present as its summer musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA at the theater at 115 West 4th Street, Reserve, Louisiana.

The Broadway-style musical will be presented July 20-21 and 23-28 at 7:30 PM and a matinee Sunday July 22 at 2:30 PM. Reserve native Darryl P. Clement is the director.

Advanced tickets are on sale at Allied Express on Carrollwood Drive in LaPlace (985.651.9322). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets also will be sold before each performance for any performance.

“Oklahoma” is a musical set in the Oklahoma territory in 1906, a year before it became a state. The show tells the story of a cowboy named Curley who struggles with the likes of the disturbing farm hand, Jud, over the affections of Laurey.

A large cast of River Parish performers has been assembled for the presentation.
