LULING -- A 47-year-old Boutte woman succumbed to her injuries from a two-vehicle crash on Paul Maillard Road in Luling Thursday afternoon.

Sheila Landry, a passenger in a Plymouth Voyager, died after the vehicle in which she was riding was struck.

The accident happened at 1:16 p.m on Paul Maillard Road, near the intersection with Fifth Street.

Louisiana State Trooper Brian Lapeyrolerie reported that the Voyager, driven by Alton Vickers of Luling, was traveling south on Paul Maillard, at which time it turned left to enter a private driveway.

The Plymouth then entered the northbound lane of Paul Maillard and into the path of the Explorer, which was driven by Dana Hills of Boutte.

The Explorer struck the Voyager on the passenger side. Vickers, Hills and a passenger in the Ford each sustained moderate injuries from the accident.

They were transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital for treatment.

All occupants in each vehicle had been wearing seat belts, Lapeyrolerie reported.
