Authorities said Corey Bartholomew, 25, of Edgard turned himself in to detectives at the Criminal Investigations Division Monday.

Bartholomew’s arrest follows a Sunday West Bank shooting that left a St. Charles Parish man with a gunshot wound to his neck, authorities said.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said deputies located the victim, described as a 26-year-old Killona man, at a residence in the 200 block of East 14th Street in Edgard.

The victim told deputies he was shot in the 200 block of East 6th Street.

Emergency medical services took the victim to a New Orleans-area hospital for medical treatment.

His current condition is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, Tregre said.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

Those who call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward.
