LAPLACE — Several complaints of stolen grocery baskets from Winn Dixie led deputies to investigate two men Nov. 18 who had a grocery basket in the 2000 block of North Sugar Ridge Road in LaPlace.

During the investigation, deputies recovered a handgun from each of the men.

Deputies arrested and booked the men accordingly.

Jordan James, 22, of New Orleans is charged with unauthorized removal of a shopping basket and illegal carrying of a weapon.

James posted a $3,500 bond Saturday and has been released.

Deputies booked Dervol Zeno, 34, of LaPlace with unauthorized removal of a shopping basket and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Zeno remains in custody in lieu of an $11,000 bond and a Louisiana Probation/Parole hold.
