LAPLACE — St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and School honored St. John the Baptist Parish’s first responders at Blue Mass Sept. 29, during the feast of the Guardian Angels.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department attended.

Parish President Natalie Robottom welcomed all in attendance. Sheriff Mike Tregre participated by proclaiming the First Reading.

After Mass, the officers’ and fire fighters’ vehicles were blessed. All were then invited to lunch in the SJA Family Life Center.

Organizers said special thanks to BRS Seafood, Raising Canes, SJA Knights of Columbus and SJA Golden Oaks for preparing the meal and donating the drinks. Volunteers from the parish and the SJA Grandparents’ Club served the meal.
