Gibbs said he is the son of a retired FBI Agent and one of eight children raised in Metairie.

“I have made St. Charles Parish and District 3 home for the past 20 plus years,” he said. “I am married to a wonderful wife, Lisa, and father of four amazing children, all of who were raised, and are still being raised, in District 3 of St. Charles Parish. My family is a huge contributing factor to the success I have appreciated in my life.”

Gibbs said he is in his second term as chairman of Planning and Zoning.

“I have a wealth of experience dealing with the incredible people of St. Charles Parish as chairman and have worked closely with the Parish Council members in this capacity,” he said. “I am a proven leader in and around the community and sit on several boards. I have appreciated much success as a businessman over the past 30 years and will bring that success to the Council.”

Gibbs said he given 17 years of volunteering to the Parks and Recreation Department of St. Charles Parish as a coach in soccer, football, basketball and baseball, while mentoring senior athletes at Destrehan High School.

“While I have never run for public office, I feel it is my time to give back to the community I love,” he said.

“Council District 3 needs a strong leader who can come to the table with ideas, not ideology. I look forward to being an independent voice on the Council and will represent our entire Parish, including our youth, our seniors, our diverse communities and neighborhoods throughout the third district.

“I care deeply and passionately about our community, I consider serving on the council not as politics, but as public service. I want to do all I can to contribute to preserving all that’s great about St. Charles Parish and making it an even better place to live, work and raise a family in the future.”
