Shots fired in Garyville, 1 suspect arrested

GARYVILLE — A local man is facing an aggravated assault charge following an investigation into shots fired in Garyville.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said deputies arrested Kyron Pembrook, 26, of Garyville today, booking him with aggravated assault with a firearm. His bond was not set.

The investigation began at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday when deputies responded to the 400 block of Historic Main Street in Garyville following a report of someone shooting at a male subject.

“Deputies arrived to learn the victim was a 19-year-old male subject from Garyville,” Tregre said in a release. “He was not injured.

“Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified (Pembrook,) of Little Hope Street in Garyville as the suspect.”

Authorities reported Pembrook has been arrested 17 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since April 2006.
