Keller: America remains a divided nation following Court ruling

A birthday celebration should be a happy occasion.

This week, we should be looking forward to the holiday, America’s 239th birthday, reflecting and being thankful for the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence.

They were willing to risk all to establish these United States of America. All of them lost everything.

America, one nation, under God, according to the Pledge of Allegiance.

It’s been slow in coming, but we are not a Christian nation anymore.

We have allowed the government to legalize abortion and Friday, the Supreme Court, with the encouragement of President Obama, OK’d same-sex marriages.

That night, the White House was illuminated with rainbow colors in commemoration of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Marriage is still as God ordained it to be between a man and a woman. Only fools will parade and mock sin.

My heart is grieved for our country.

With all the fanfare, is this really a happy birthday for America? I think not! We are a divided nation and not necessarily under God as stated in the Pledge of Allegiance.

God cannot be pleased as we ignore His existence and disobey His Word (The Bible).

Be assured that I’m not discouraged.

As a Christian, I pray for me to take this opportunity to share the truth and the love of Jesus Christ.

The majority of Americans say they believe in God, but act contrary to His teachings.

I’m old enough to remember the Second World War and some of the people who fought and died for our country.

According to an anonymous statement I read years ago, the things that are destroying this once-great country, and I agree, are politics without principle, pleasure without conscience, wealth without work, knowledge without character, business without morality, science without humanity and worship without sacrifice.

President Obama attended a church for 20 years that his pastor publicly said, “God, damn America.”

I still believe that God wants to bless America.
